Terms and Conditions for the Certified PROFIBUS Installer with Troubleshooting Course Competition

The following Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) govern the Certified PROFIBUS Installer with Troubleshooting Course Competition, hosted by Industrial Data Xchange (IDX) at the Africa Automation Technology Fair, taking place from 6 – 8 May 2025 at Gallagher Convention Centre. By entering the competition, participants agree to abide by these terms and conditions.

1. Eligibility

1.1. The competition is open to individuals from relevant industries who have an interest in PROFIBUS knowledge.
1.2. Employees of Industrial Data Xchange and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.
1.3. Participants must enrol in the specified course by 30 November 2025 and choose a date based on the IDX Academy Training Schedule for 2025.

2. Competition Period

2.1. The competition starts on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 9:00 AM and ends on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 4:00 PM.
2.2. Entries received before or after the closing date and time will not be considered.

3. Entry Requirements

3.1. Participants must visit the Industrial Data Xchange stand (Stand B514 in Hall 5) at the Africa Automation Technology Fair on at least one of the designated days during the specified hours.
3.2. At the Industrial Data Xchange stand, participants must complete an entry card with their contact details and place it in the designated competition box.
3.3. Entry cards with incomplete information will be disqualified.
3.4. Each participant is allowed only one entry into the competition.

4. Winner Selection

4.1. On the final day of the competition, Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the close of the exhibition, the competition box will be opened, and a winner will be chosen at random.
4.2. The name drawn from the box will be final, and no disputes or correspondence will be entertained thereafter.
4.3. The winner will be announced on Friday, May 9, 2025, through the Industrial Data Xchange official social media channels and will be contacted directly via email.

5. Prize Details

5.1. The winner will receive a Certified PROFIBUS Installer with Troubleshooting Course.
5.2. The prize cannot be exchanged for cash, any Industrial Data Xchange offering, or any alternative.
5.3. The prize covers the cost of training, training materials, and meals at the IDX Academy in Fourways, Johannesburg, South Africa. Travel expenses to and from Industrial Data Xchange, as well as accommodation for participants, are not covered by Industrial Data Xchange. Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation, accommodation, and any additional costs not covered by the offer.
5.4. If the winner does not wish to use the prize, they may transfer it to someone within their company only, and not to any external individuals. Proof of employment within the company may be required.
5.5. Once the winner has been contacted, it is their responsibility to reach out to Industrial Data Xchange and arrange the training according to the IDX Academy Training Schedule for 2025.
5.6. If the winner does not claim their prize within six months of the date of the announcement (by 30 November 2025), Industrial Data Xchange reserves the right to terminate the course offer.

6. Liability and Disqualification

6.1. By participating in this competition, entrants acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions.
6.2. Industrial Data Xchange reserves the right to disqualify participants who breach these terms and conditions.
6.3. Industrial Data Xchange is not responsible for any technical issues, discontinued email accounts, incorrect contact information provided, or incomplete submissions.
6.4. Industrial Data Xchange reserves the right to modify or cancel the competition if necessary.

7. Privacy

7.1. Personal data collected will not be shared with third parties without consent.
7.2. Any personal data collected will be used solely for the purpose of administering this competition.
7.3. Personal data collected will not be used for marketing purposes without any consent.
