PROFINET Network Audits

PROFINET Network failures often lead to production loss as a result of unplanned downtime. Whether this is due to incorrect installation practices, interference, faulty devices or network timing parameters the PCCSA (PROFIBUS / PROFINET Competence Centre of Southern Africa) has you covered.

Why conduct an audit?

A comprehensive network audit will give insight into any problem areas within your PROFINET network. A scheduled network audit is an extremely effective way to be proactive and identify and prevent faults before they occur, ultimately preventing losses as a result of downtime.

Benefits of completing an audit

• Reduced downtime and the associated losses
• Detailed information pertaining to network interference, risks, and corrective actions
• A comprehensive report issued with specific recommendations
• Proactive approach ensuring your network remains in its healthiest state
• Ensuring contractor installations meet PROFIBUS / PROFINET international guidelines

How often should an audit be conducted?

Our recommendation is that an annual audit is conducted on each of your PROFINET networks. In addition, any planned network changes (expansion, reduction, re-routing) should be subjected to an audit being conducted before and after any changes to ensure that the health of your PROFINET network is not compromised in any way.
The PCC (PROFIBUS / PROFINET Competence Centre) is driven by the IDX Academy. The center offers the following services in-line with the maintenance and adoption of PROFINET on the African continent:
• Certified technical training
• Email, telephonic and web support
• Network audits and troubleshooting services
•  Up-to-date database for service suppliers, users, and common problems

External Audits - Analysis completed by IDX

One of our experienced certified PROFINET Engineers will conduct a full network inspection and evaluate each element of the installation, ensuring that your network complies with the latest PROFINET installation requirements. On completion of the audit, a full audit report will be compiled, highlighting any recommendations / corrective actions that should be addressed, either immediately or during the next available network shutdown.
